Daniel Radcliffe Was Considered For Gary Barlow's Jubilee Song

We LOVE Gary Barlow's Diamond Jubilee song 'Sing' but it could've been a million times better, as it's been revealed that none other than Daniel Radcliffe was approached to sing the lead vocals on the track!

The actor was initially considered to take part in the ensemble song 'Sing' which has since shot to Number 1 in the UK Singles chart. But Gary and co-writer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber were forced to rule him out because he hates the monarchy!

Sir Andrew has revealed that he was keen to get a well-known face to lead the song and thought Dan would be perfect after seeing him sing in his Broadway musical 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.'

But things didn't go to play as Sir Andrew tells the Daily Telegraph:

"Initially, we thought we needed a principal performer. Then I had a bright idea. In fact, I thought it was corker. Daniel Radcliffe."

"I had seen him perform sensationally in last year's Tony Awards, for which, disgracefully, he was not nominated. Gary agreed. Who better than a young Brit, known throughout the world as Harry Potter, to sing on such an occasion?"

"The problem was that Daniel is anti-monarchy and has given interviews to this effect, so we decided that it was probably not a path we should pursue."

Mmm it probably worked out for the best then!
