Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in a new adaptation of 'Frankenstein'. The 'Harry Potter' actor is reportedly in talks to play Hunchback, who assists Henry Frankenstein in the creation of his monster, in a new film version of the best-selling book. The movie places the monster character - named Fitz in the book - in the lead role and he will wear old clown's clothing, and has been described as "pathologically dirty". The film-makers are currently finalising the script, which is being penned by 'Chronicle' writer Max Landis, who recently discussed the challenges of re-interpreting the book. He said: "I began to pick apart our knowledge of Frankenstein and discovered that the public's idea of this myth comes from a million different places. The Wrap reports that the 23-year-old actor is interested in the Paul McGuigan Frankenstein . Daniel would play the Hunchback, who is described as pathologically dirty and dressed in old clowns clothing. With the script written by Max Landis , the flick is based on Mary Shelley s novel with a sci-fi twist about a creature produced through a scientific experiment. The film is meant to be a romantic comedy, but it was an action packed day of shooting in Dublin for the 23-year-old actor. Not only was he faking a tumble, but he was also seen sprinting to catch a taxi. In a s-potter of bother: Radcliffe lies in a crumpled head on the floor during shooting of The F Word in Dublin However, he was soon back on his feet as if by magic, and was seen joking with the cast and crew. The actor was wearing a pair of brown trousers, a blue shirt and a jacket during shooting, while his female co-star wore a colourful patterned short dress, white jacket and red shoes. According to The Wrap , the actor is interested in the role of Hunchback, the assistant who helps Henry Frankenstein to create his monster. The character has often been referred to as "Igor" in previous film and TV adaptations. In this version, Hunchback becomes the lead role and is described as "pathologically dirty and dressed in old clown's clothing". The film is billed as a "revisionist" and "sci-fi" take on Mary Shelley 's classic novel.
