Janet McTeer has said that Daniel Radcliffe is trying to do something new for his post-Harry Potter career.

The Albert Nobbs star praised Radcliffe for stepping outside of his comfort zone, saying that he is a very talented actor.

"He's so incredibly intelligent and incredibly bright," McTeer told E! Online. "He's trying to do something totally new to him - very, very, very talented."

McTeer went on to say that she is not sure that Radcliffe's Harry Potter fans will enjoy his new film.

"I imagine some of them will like it, but I imagine some of them will want him to be Potter," she said. "For some it will take a bit of adjustment to realise he's not just Harry Potter but he's an actor who is now doing some fantastic things."

Radcliffe recently revealed that he was allergic to the iconic spectacles he wore for the Harry Potter movies, saying that the first pair he tried caused two rings of whiteheads.

The actor has said that audiences will be terrified by The Woman In Black, adding that he is "very excited" about seeing the film.

The Woman in Black is slated to open in cinemas on February 3, 2012.
