Doctor Dan & Don Draper Hamms Russian TV plan

Fans of Casualty and Holby City will be disappointed, though, because hes appearing in a new four-part drama to be shown on Sky Arts.

Daniel will star alongside Mad Men heart-throb Jon Hamm in the show, about Russian doctors after the First World War.

The two actors will play the same character with Daniel as the doctor in his younger life and Jon portraying the medics later years.

American Jon Mad Men ad exec Don Draper will narrate the story but will still interact with his younger self, Daniel, during some of the scenes.

A source said: This is a great role for Daniel and hes pretty excited about the prospect of working with Jon.

Hes a big Mad Men fan and feels he can learn a lot from Don. But Jon knows all about Daniels qualities, too, so hell also be doing some learning.

The series will incorporate some dark humour as the doctor attempts to overcome self-doubts about his competence.

But Daniel is used to working on dark scripts after his role in scary movie The Woman In Black.
