Exclusive: Daniel Radcliffe Googles Himself

Daniel Radcliffe fans have waited and waited for the British actor to get online and join the social media scene. And while you still won't find him on Twitter or Facebook in the near future, the one-time Boy Who Lived has indeed come to socialize by way of Google.

The "Harry Potter" superstar is coming online with a Google+ page, MTV News can exclusively confirm. Though Radcliffe has been reluctant about getting involved in social media in the past, the actor has since had a change of heart, largely because he wants fans to get their Radcliffe fix from the real source.

"This has mainly come about because of the amount of people that I meet who tell me that they have contacted me on Twitter or Facebook when I know that's impossible because I don't belong to either one of those sites," Radcliffe told MTV News about joining Google+. "Now that I have this page, there will be an outlet for accurate information and hopefully people will not waste their time giving credence to people pretending to be me."

Radcliffe isn't a stranger to the rumor mill. He was recently linked to a Guillermo del Toro "Pinocchio" movie, based on comments made by del Toro himself. But the actor later clarified that there's no truth to those rumors, joking that he must have an impersonator lurking about Hollywood. And though this alleged impersonator has "good taste" in directors like del Toro, Radcliffe hopes his frequently-updated Google+ page will keep imposters out and the facts straight regarding his professional life. "It will be acti! ve," he said, "but with updates about things I'm working on or have worked on, including things I'm passionate about, like The Trevor Project. What it won't be is the minutia of my daily life, like what's on the craft services table."
