Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Radcliffe And Skyfall Grab Prizes As Film World Parties At The Jameson Empire Awards
James Bond movie Skyfall was left disappointed in a number of categories at last night's Jameson Empire Awards, missing out in the Best Thriller and British Film sections, but it did win the big prize for Best Film.
The stars were all out at London's Grovesnor House for the ceremony, with Kevin Spacey rewarding Skyfall director Sam Mendes with the Empire Inspiration Award to go with Skyfall's Best Film win and his Best Director prize for the same movie.

Sam laughingly savaged Kevin in his acceptance speech, describing the veteran actor as the perfect man to play Lester Burnham, the strange character he portrayed in Mendes' first feature American Beauty.
Aside from Skyfall's eventual triumph, a number of other British film legends were honoured, with Dame Helen Mirren, Danny Boyle and, the relative youngster Daniel Radcliffe all bagging gongs.

Best Actress predictably went to Jennifer Lawrence, while Martin Freeman won the male equivalent for his role in The Hobbit.
The whole awards show was hosted by Irish comedian Ed Byrne, who admitted to EntertainmentWise that he was a bit nervous about hosting the show, but didn't show it by opening with a gag at the expense of Oscars host Seth MacFarlane.
As the drink flowed, the stars celebrated another great year in film but it was Helen Mirren who stole the show with an impassioned acceptance speech which took aim at the status of women in film.

The Queen star said that she hoped that there were many more inspiring women behind the camera than when she started out in the industry, also stating that in the future she hopes there's a more balanced awards list.
Hopefully in five or 10 years, when Sams successor is collecting their Inspiration Award, the list will be slightly more balanced in te! rms of it! s sexual make-up, Mirren said.
After the gongs had been dished out and the praise shared around, everyone headed off to London nightspot Cafe De Paris, where stars including Best Actor winner Martin Freeman, Anna Karenina star Domnall Gleason and the duo behind Best British Film winner Sightseers, Alice Lowe and Steve Oram, partied until the early hours.
