Daniel Radcliffe weeps at 'beautiful' funeral of Harry Potter co-star

Daniel Radcliffe sobbed at the funeral of his Harry Potter co-star Richard Griffiths yesterday.

The actor joined 300 mourners to pay his respects to Richard - who played his cruel uncle Vernon Dursley in the film series - at the Holy Trinity church in Stratford-upon-Avon.

'Daniel was clearly very fond of Richard, as anyone who ever met him was, and was crying quite openly in church,' a mourner tells Mail Online.

'It was a beautiful service and Richard would have been touched by how many people turned up to say goodbye.

'Richard was a tremendous character and the service was full of laughter and tears as his life was remembered with immense warmth and affection.'

Daniel, 23, was joined by stars including Judi Dench, Richard E Grant and Jack Whitehall - who was Richard's godson - to see the veteran actor laid to rest.

Harry Potter actre! ss Emma Watson had sent her condolences on Twitter shortly after Richard, 65, passed away on 28 March following complications during heart surgery.

'RIP Richard Griffiths. You will be missed. X,' Tweeted Emma, 22.
