DANIEL Radcliffe could clearly do with a magic wand to wipe that deathly pallor off his face.

The Harry Potter star, 23, looked pale and tired as he arrived at an airport, with red eyes and messy hair hidden under a baseball hat.

Daniel who played the boy wizard in the movie series arrived in the California city ahead of Sundays Oscars.

The Brit star will be attending the ceremony for the first time even though the Potter films were nominated for a gong 12 times.

Daniel, who will be joining Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Charlize Theron at this years awards, is set to perform a top secret special segment for the show hosted by comedian Seth McFarlane.

But Oscars chiefs remain tight-lipped on details of his involvement. In a statement, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said: We are quite excited to have Charlize, Chan, Joe and Dan join us on the show.

We are happy to feature them as special guests in our production.

Meanwhile, the director of his latest film Kill Your Darlings has revealed how Daniel snared the role of American Jewish poet Allen Ginsberg by being circumcised.

John Krokidas told Out Magazine that he was worried Daniel was not Jewish.

He said: Before I sent out the script, I said, Oh s***, Daniels not Jewish. And my boyfriend said, Of course hes Jewish, everyone in the world knows that. Didnt you see the shots from Equus? Hes only British from the waist up.
