But the biggest fright didn't occur on set it was meeting his girlfriend's folks for the first time.

The actor recently took his missus Rosie Coker's parents to lunch.

Speaking on tonight's Graham Norton Show, he reveals: "It was a uniquely nerve-wracking experience. She wasn't there. It was lovely but at the end of it I did have to ask, 'Have I passed?'

"We are still going out so I guess it was all OK."

He must have got on pretty well with her old man he's already borrowing his jumpers.
