Radcliffes new box office success
Daniel Radcliffes new flick The Woman In Black has become the UKs highest grossing British horror film of the past 20 years.
The Hammer film, in which the Harry Potter star plays a grieving widower who travels to a remote village and stumbles upon an unforgiving ghost, has now raked in more cash than many Hollywood productions shot in the UK with British talent.
The movie scored a hat-trick at the top of the UK box office, holding the number one slot in the UK for the last three weeks and taking in 14.6 million. It has also taken more than 50 million dollars at US cinemas.
Simon Oakes of Hammer said: The record-breaking success of The Woman In Black is an important achievement that affirms the re-birth of Hammer. We are continuing to develop exciting and intelligent genre films this year such as The Quiet Ones and Gaslight, both of which will shoot in the UK.
Next month sees Daniel start work on the next phase of his post-Potter career, playing the American poet Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings, about the true story of a murder committed by one of Ginsbergs friends.
