Daniel Radcliffe to star in adaptation of fantasy-thriller book Horns
Daniel Radcliffe will star in Alexandre Ajas Horns, an adaptation of Joe Hills New York Times best-selling book.
Complex reports that Radcliffe will play lead character Ig Perrish, the main suspect in the murder of his girlfriend.
According to the Amazon description of the book, Perrish spends the one-year anniversary of his girlfriends death drinking and doing awful things. He awakens the next morning hung over to find horns growing from his head. The horns give Perrish new powers that will help him find his girlfriends true killer.
Aja, whose directing career so far consists mainly of horror and thriller films including 2006s The Hills Have Eyes, spoke about why he decided to adapt the book for the big screen.
After reading Joe Hill's cult book, I couldn't resist temptation to dive into the devilish underworld and reinvent a universal myth," Aja said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "Horns is a wild ride of sin and crime, with a love story in its heart."
Besides Aja, Radcliffe and screenplay writer Keith Bunin's involvement, little else is known about the film. Principal photography is expected to begin in the Fall.
