Daniel Radcliffe to star in new romantic comedy film

Daniel Radcliffe has been cast in a new romantic comedy film called The F Word.

Radcliffe will star opposite American actress Zoe Kazan, who has previously appeared in Meek's Cutoff, It's Complicated and Me And Orson Welles. According to Variety, the Canadian indie film will begin shooting on August 15 in Toronto.

The F Word's provocative title apparently refers to the dreaded expression "just friends". Radcliffe and Kazan will play characters who enjoy a flirtatious encounter at a party, but have to keep their relationship platonic because Kazan's character has a long-term boyfriend.

The film is based on the play Toothpaste And Cigars by TJ Dawe and Michael Rinaldi with a script by Elan Mastai. It will be directed by Michael Dowse, whose previous credits include Goon and It's All Gone Pete Tong.

Radcliffe made his first big screen appearance since the end of the Harry Potter franchise in The Woman In Black, which was released earlier this year. It was a surprise hit, becoming the highest-grossing British horror movie in two decades. He will next be seen in Kill Your Darlings, a murder mystery film centred around beat generat! ion poet s Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.
