New Woman in Black TV Spot Gives Chills
The Woman in Black, a new film directed by James Watkins and starring Daniel Radcliffe, aims to inspire old-school chills. The film is an atmospheric creep-fest in the vein of haunted house movies like House on Haunted Hill, Poltergeist, and most recently Paranormal Activity.
The new TV spot fleshes out what weve seen in previous trailers with more chills and backstory. We see fleeting glimpses of the incredibly remote peninsula where the story takes place, as well as the mysterious characters that permeate this murky world. We also get more of the enigma as to who The Woman in Black is, and why she might be terrorizing poor Daniel Radcliffes character. Ciarn Hinds adds to the creepy mood by giving an incredibly foreboding portrayal of a suspicious house guest.

Daniel Radcliffe continues to impress as an actor. First he dazzled us on stage as Alan Strang in Equus and now the former Harry Potter star stretches his acting chops even further. From the first frames of these trailers there is no trace of the boy wizard. This is a mature actor giving a mature performance, as a recently widowed lawyer.
All in all, the new TV spot continues the hope that we will get a good old-fashioned haunted house movie with some genuine creeps.
The Woman in Black opens wide February 3, 2012
