Daniel Radcliffe is Hairy Mopper

The Harry Potter star has grown his hair to star as Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the new movie.

His curly locks are usually kept in check during filming, but the 22-year-old looked like he was still sporting a bedhead when he turned up on the New York set.

Perhaps the news that he topped the young rich list this week with a fortune of $54million has made his hair stand on end.

Or he may be modelling his look on Channel Four presenter Nick Grimshaw.

Dan plays the gay fifties poet as a student in his second screen outing since the wizard franchise finished in 2011.

Co-star Ben Foster, who plays fellow writer William S Burroughs, reckon audiences are in for a shock and not just because of the dodgy barnet.

He said: In terms of Daniel Radcliffe, I admire him so much. He is a tremendously courageous human, great mind.

He's done some work in this film which I think is going to shock and impress and put to bed so many doubting minds.

Everyone seems to be ready to cut the man down, and he's going to prove them wrong. He's a hell of a talent.
