Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has praised Lana Del Rey following her Saturday Night Live performance, after the singer received some negative comments on Twitter.
The 25-year old, who performed Video Games and Blue Jeans on the US show, was criticised by the likes of Perez Hilton and Juliette Lewis on the social-networking site.
However, Radcliffe - who presented the SNL episode that featured Del Rey's performances - has leapt to her defence, telling the BBC: "It was unfortunate that people seemed to turn on her so quickly.
"I also think people are making it about things other than the performance. If you read what people are saying about her online, it's all about her past and her family and stuff that's nobody else's business."
The actor added: "I don't think it [her performance] warranted anywhere near that reaction."
Lewis has since taken back the negative comments she made about Lana, later tweeting: "I woke up singing a @LanaDelRey song! Such great haunting melodies! Regardless of my own taste LIVE she's a #FreshandYummy songwriter. Period,"
Del Rey - real name Lizzie Grant - is gearing up to release her debut album on 30th January, which will feature twelve tracks.
She will also be performing alongside The Maccabees on Tuesday 24th January as part of her mention on this year's Brand New For 2012 shortlist.
