Daniel Radcliffe: 'Rupert Grint and I are very, very good friends'

Daniel Radcliffe has clarified his recent comments that he and former Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint aren't close.

The actor was quoted in a recent interview as saying that he and Emma Watson text message each other "all the time", but claimed that he and Grint aren't the best of friends.

"If I see him every six months or so, it's a friendly 'hello, how's things with you' but that's about it," Radcliffe apparently said of his friendship with Grint.

Radcliffe was interviewed on Ryan Seacrest's On Air radio programme on Tuesday (January 31) and took the opportunity to assure Harry Potter fans that he gets on well with Grint.

"Rupert and I never text, we never have in 10 years of filming. We are crappy at texting each other back and we both know that's how the other person is and we just accept it," Radcliffe explained.

"The next time I see Rupert we will sit down next to each other and chat and it will be like old times. Me and Rupert are very, very g! ood frie nds. It's just that we are not constantly texting each other."

Radcliffe recently revealed that he would return to the Harry Potter franchise if the project was right.

He also joked that he is too embarrassed to watch himself in the Harry Potter films.

Radcliffe's new film The Woman in Black opens on Friday, February 3 in the US and on February 10 in the UK.
