Daniel Radcliffe Ends How to Succeed Run On a High Note

When Daniel Radcliffe played his final performance in the Tony-nominated revival of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying Jan. 1, it was the end of a record-breaking week for the musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

For the week ending Jan. 1, the musical comedy grossed $1,910,224, for nine performances. The record at the Hirschfeld was previously held by the holiday musical Elf, which, also in a nine-show week in 2010, grossed $1,572,836.

Radcliffe, who had made his Broadway debut in Equus, never missed a performance throughout his entire How to Succeed run, playing all 30 preview and 315 regular performances. Tony winner John Larroquette also played his final performance Jan. 1.

How to Succeed opened on Broadway March 27, 2011, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. The musical has a score by Frank Loesser, with a book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. Tony Award winner Rob Ashford directed and choreographed the production.
